Though the purpose is good, a brother had initially reacted that it might associate Halloween with something fearful, which is not the original intent of Halloween. The team explained that the intention of the presentation is to expose the gruesomeness of sin, in the sync with the "horror" that the modern atmosphere feels about the season. The fact that the Week Of The Horror Of Sin covers from October 25 to 31 gives a very sensible idea that the presentation week does not intend to cover the two November holy days.

Pope Benedict XVI closed the Second Special Assembly of the Synod of Bishops for Africa today with Mass in St. Peters Basilica.

In his Homily, the Holy Father said the global development model should be renewed so that it is able "to include all peoples and not only those already adequately equipped."

The Pope said globalization "is a human reality" that may be modified, and that the Church "works with its personalist and communitarian vision to guide the process in terms of real authentically human relations, of fraternity and sharing."
